Happy 4th of July

There are few things more “American” than baseball, apple pie and Independence Day. On July 4, 1776, we claimed our independence from Britain and Democracy was born. Although that started the Revolutionary War where many brave men and women fought for our freedom. Since then, thousands have left their homeland to come to the “land of the free and the home of the brave” so they can begin their American Dream. Over the years, our celebration of freedom and independence has remained unchanged, and every year on July 4, Americans will celebrate their independence with barbecues, picnics, and family gatherings. John Adams, the 2nd president of the United States, said this about celebrating Independence Day: “It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.” When you’re out celebrating this 4th of July, make sure that you take a moment to remember why we’re celebrating. Happy Birthday, America!
